Single Mom Life: Being Single Until Mr. Right Comes Along

Becoming a single mother is not the simplest of tasks but parenting can be one of the most rewarding activities in your life. I remember the first night in a long time I was home by myself after my divorce; It felt like so much freedom yet totally empty. Then, as time went on I slowly appreciated this new chapter of my life. If you are reading this then perhaps it is because we travel similar paths, and as such, I think that it’s important to know one thing; You never walk alone.
Yep, according to the U.S. Census Bureau there are about 15 million single moms in America today and those mothers have (on average) three children. That is about 1 in every four households. Single motherhood is more prevalent than ever; though the experience brings about its own set of difficulties, it also carries with it an inspiring sense of empowerment and potential.

Embracing Your Independence

As a single person, you have the flexibility to do whatever whenever. You don’t have to wait for someone else’s schedule to match yours. You can be impulsive and do things as you like without taking into account someone else’s preferences or agenda.

Enjoy More Free Time

You are much busier as a single mom. Being single allows you to reflect more time on yourself. Be it the gym, a hiking organization, or classes for guitar lessons — you have complete discretion over how to allocate your time. Thinking of joining a course or picking up that hobby? Go for it! There’s no one stopping you.

No Compromise on Personal Habits

Living by yourself means you won’t be subject to someone else’s idiosyncratic behavior. All the other house noises will do and you can have a nice peaceful sleep without snoring sounds or blanket wars. It can be your own messiest, disheveled house. 

Be Spontaneous

You’re free to be bold, even impulsive. There is a chance you will feel like eating at midnight. Go ahead! Looking to plan a trip at the last minute? Do it! This type of freedom is breathtaking and enables you to live life in a different manner.

Focus on Your Career

You can afford to exert more effort through your career if being single. The less you have to deal with (distraction-wise), the more discretionary work hours, responsibilities, and professional promotion will probably come your way. The improvement is a great opportunity to showcase your talent and get promoted.

Becoming the Right Person

It comes with becoming the right person while waiting for getting the one. Because this self-improvement and introspection also get you ready for a future relationship – but above all, it makes your life better. 

Self-Reflection

Think about how those relationships or experiences you had before. What did you learn about YOU? What is your behavior you wanna change? You gradually grow when you learn about your strengths and weaknesses in tackling any situation or work by understanding the reflections from the self.

Define Your Values

If you want to become the woman that other guys aspire to be, then knowing what those core values are is vital. What drives you in life? Honesty, kindness, integrity, and respect are core values that if learned at a young age can shape you as a person for the rest of your life. Simply put, living based on your standards is going to draw in similar people.

Personal Growth

Personal improvement Study, take courses and workshops that can help you to develop emotionally, intellectually, or spiritually. Personal development, broken down to learning new skills or honing existing ones, helps you engage in something and grow.

 

Emotional Health

Get adequate therapy to support yourself with emotional health and self-care practices. One important trait of building a healthy relationship is actually based on the ability to create emotional intelligence such as self-awareness, empathy, and effective communication. Be mindful and disciplined to learn about what is emotionally trying for you so that you can have an objective and proactive response.

Physical Health

Considering your health and wellbeing physically is equally as important. Working out regularly, eating a well-balanced diet, and getting plenty of sleep all help improve our overall quality of life. The physical feel-good factors make up our mental and emotional wellness, so it is important.

Building Confidence

You are being attractive and confident. Push your limits to be able to achieve little accomplishments which will help you build confidence. Even if your wins seem super small, celebrate them! It gives you a little more confidence and makes it easier to trust yourself.

Creating Positive Relationships

It is important for one to have supportive, positive influences that light up one’s soul. You will be able to lean on healthy friendships and family you can look up that exhibit the type of partnership in which you desire.

Setting boundaries is a way to safeguard your time, energy, and emotional health. They enable you to establish superior boundaries as a way of interacting with your environment in the world and are useful when it comes to demanding respect be given or earned.

Being Authentic

Be your authentic self, especially when looking for love. Pretending to be something you’re not only leads to heartbreak later. By being your authentic self, without judgment and without guilt, you allow space for the right people to come in, whether it be romantic, professional or friendships. Being yourself is always the best option.

Practicing Gratitude

Develop an attitude of gratitude. Celebrate the good things yet to come and honor that which you’ve grown from. It will get you out of a place where everything feels all wrong; that feeling so suffocating and unpleasant it squashes your creativity. Well, practicing gratitude or appreciation can lift the avalanche off of you, giving focus back to what is good instead of what is bad.

What You Prefer In Your Ideal Partner

While you are becoming the right person, think about what kind of partner you want to have. Just How Do They Function? How do they treat others? How do they deal with the changes in life? In knowing exactly what you want, you will be better able to align your actions and decisions in order to attract that kind of partner.
