February, the month of love, is here, and whether you’re a married mom, a single mom, a divorced mom, a step-mom, a grandma mom, or even a dog or cat mom; this article is dedicated to celebrating the wonderful moms in our lives. Regardless of whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or consider it just another Hallmark holiday, let’s spread love in all its forms.
Welcome to a space dedicated to the most sacred of pursuits: spreading love. As we navigate our days, juggling the roles of nurturer, confidante, and superhero, it’s easy to lose sight of the one love that truly fuels our souls – self-love.
Yet, amidst the chaos and clamor of daily life, let us remember this timeless truth:
The more we love ourselves, the less bullshit we will tolerate from others.
This month, as we honor the tradition of Valentine’s Day, let us not only celebrate the love we give to others but also embrace the profound journey of loving ourselves.
Come along with me as we head on an exciting journey into the captivating history of Valentine’s Day, while also weaving elements of inspiration and empowerment into our lives. Together, we will explore delightful ways to pamper ourselves, such as upgrading our sleep rituals and even sending ourselves flowers, as we set sail on a voyage towards radiating self-love and beauty.
BUT FIRST, A LITTLE HISTORY.
St. Valentine and Cupid are both significant figures associated with love and romance, although from different cultural and historical backgrounds.
St. Valentine is a legendary figure who is believed to have lived during the Roman Empire in the 3rd century AD. The true identity of St. Valentine is shrouded in mystery, as there were several martyrs named Valentine who lived around the same time.
One popular belief is that St. Valentine was a priest who defied Emperor Claudius II’s decree forbidding soldiers to marry, as he believed that single men made better soldiers. St. Valentine continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret, which ultimately led to his arrest and martyrdom.
Over time, St. Valentine became associated with love and romance due to the legend that he sent a letter to his jailer’s daughter, signed “from your Valentine,” before his execution. This act is said to have sparked the tradition of sending love letters on Valentine’s Day, which is celebrated on February 14th in his honor.
Cupid, also known as Eros in Greek mythology, is the god of love, desire, and affection. He is often depicted as a mischievous, winged cherub armed with a bow and arrow. According to mythology, Cupid has the power to make people fall in love by shooting them with his magical arrows.
In Roman mythology, Cupid is the son of Venus, the goddess of love, and Mars, the god of war. Despite his divine lineage, Cupid is portrayed as a playful and sometimes reckless figure, causing chaos and stirring up romantic feelings wherever he goes.
Cupid’s arrows are believed to have the power to ignite passion and desire in anyone they pierce, making him a symbol of love and romance in art, literature, and popular culture throughout history. He is often associated with Valentine’s Day as a whimsical figure who brings people together in the name of love.
Now….before we get into our list of acts of love, let’s take a moment to recognize the beauty of small gestures and their profound impact on our lives. Whether it’s a kind word, a thoughtful deed, or a simple act of self-care, each expression of love has the power to brighten someone’s day and uplift their spirit.
As we head on this journey together, let’s open our hearts to the endless possibilities of spreading love and kindness to those around us, starting with ourselves.

Create a lunchtime masterpiece for your child, loved one, or yourself. Some ideas include heart-shaped sandwiches and a vibrant array of red and pink delights. Craft sandwiches filled with favorites like peanut butter and jelly or turkey and cheese, all lovingly cut into charming heart shapes.
Accompany these delights with a medley of red and pink fruits and veggies, such as cherry tomatoes, sliced strawberries, and red bell pepper strips, for a burst of color and flavor. Add themed snacks like heart-shaped cheese slices and strawberry yogurt cups adorned with heart-shaped sprinkles for extra fun.

Let’s sprinkle our world with these tiny bursts of affection, filling our hearts with warmth and gratitude one sticky note at a time.
7. Sweet Love Gifts
When it comes to expressing affection, it’s the little gestures that often speak the loudest. While chocolates and flowers are timeless classics, consider adding a personal touch by selecting small, unique gifts tailored to each recipient.
For the little ones, a heart-shaped bib, pacifier, or Valentine’s Book adds a charming touch of love to their daily routine, while a coffee from Starbucks adorned with a heart sticker is sure to brighten anyone’s morning. For those with a taste for culinary delights, why not surprise them with a favorite food delivery from a cherished out-of-state location? From Chicago-style pizza to New York Cheesecake, indulge their taste buds with a delicious reminder of home.
8. Spa Day at Home
Create a serene spa environment at home with scented candles, essential oils, and your favorite relaxing music. Treat yourself to a bubble bath, a face mask, a foot soak, and a soothing skincare routine.
9. Buy YOURSELF Flowers

Whether you opt to pick them up locally or have them delivered to your doorstep, the simple act of indulging in nature’s beauty is a powerful form of self-love.
After all, you deserve to be surrounded by beauty, and what better way to do so than with a bouquet of flowers chosen by none other than yourself?

And let’s not forget the sexy songs of “Black” and “Come a Little Closer” by Dierks Bentley.

18. Upgrade Your Sleep:
Prioritizing quality sleep is indeed a profound act of self-love that can rejuvenate both body and mind. Aim for 7-8 hours of beauty rest each night, recognizing that this investment in your well-being is often more crucial than even the most nutritious meal.
